In our humble opinion, playing clean takes balls of steel... the cleaner the pickup the more unforgiving they tend to be. Certain tribute sounds, like that of Les Paul himself are so clean you can eat off of them. These glorious tones are accomplished by players who either rarely (if ever) make a mistake while playing or those who aspire to be as good as they can be. Mike Bloomfield was one of those players... every note was just perfect! If you can stay focused long enough and want to sound like Bloomy you need something in the neighborhood of a 1965 Fender Twin Reverb amp and a wind low enough that Lester William Polsfuss himself would be proud. While we can't help you with the amp... Wizz has you covered with a set of pickups that stays clean, even at ear piercing volumes, yet retains that P.A.F.ness we all know and love.
